RACING RESULTS Road Race #8 of the year (RR#4 in the Summer Series) brought our road races for 2019 to a conclusion last Thursday evening. We do still have two time trials to run however. The 36km route was Upper Clashnevin – Toomevara – Moneygall – Cloughjordan – left at Modreeny Church for Nenagh via the Old Birr Road, and finish at Rapla outside Maher's Glass. NTW OPEN 36km TT The club held our third open racing event of the year – the open 36km TT, last Saturday August 3 rd . The route took the participating time triallists from Nenagh to the roundabout at the Barack Obama Plaza and back. A strong field of 27 competitors included some of Irelands top time triallists. The fastest time on the day was set by Greg Swinand (Dan Morrissey MIG Practimo), pictured above receiving his prize from Conor Hannon, with a time of 46.06. WELL DONE EDVINS! Congratulations to Edvins who won the Christy McManus road race (A2/A3) at the Roundwood GP (Bray Wheelers) last Saturday 27 th July. Edvins won with a solo effort with about 2.5 laps to go and by an approx. margin of 45 seconds, a great achievement considering Edvins started the year at A4. There is no stopping this man! Club Racing Resumes: Thursday 25th July: 2019 Summer Series RR2 / Championship Hill Climb – this is the first of our Championship trophy races so we hope to see a good turnout on the evening. This is a different style of race, it will be ran over a shorter distance(14.5km) but finishes on top of one of our local climbs. The club will be hosting our final open race of the season – an open 36km Time Trial on Saturday 3rd August in Nenagh. Sign on will be open in the Dapp Inn, Nenagh, (E45 A582) from 10am to 11.30am. First rider away time is 12:00, with away order based on sign on order. There are prizes on the day for 3 fastest flat times and 1st unplaced A2, A3/Jnr, A4, Woman.
