With the evenings getting brighter and the weather getting better (we live in hope!), we look forward to welcoming more members out on the roads at the Sunday club spins and training sessions. Racing continued Sunday with Eoin Woolley at Tribikes Loughrea GP and Sinnead Oakes and Pat Bergin competing at Caherconlish in the Rás Luimini. Eoin turned in yet another strong performance to finish 12th whilst in Limerick Sinnead and Pat fought constantly deteriorating conditions. It was Sinneads first road race outing and it was a sterling performance that got her to the finish line. Well done all.

RACING UPDATE

On Sunday 6 members of the Wheelers started their racing season by competing in the Ned Flanagan Charity road race in Monasterevin. All were showing great form over the 70km course but with just 5km to go a high speed crash put paid to the chances of Paddy Rohan, Pat Bergin, Liam Callaghan and Tommy Hanrahan along with many other local riders representing the DMG Visit Nenagh team. Brian O’Neill’s race ended with a puncture just prior to the carnage leaving Eoin Woolley the only club finisher who rode strongly and was lucky to have avoided the crash. Well done […]

The new box full of kit has arrived! Due to the rise in VAT in England prices are up a little – the long sleeve jersey and the gilet are now €58 and the bib tights are €78.

THE WHEELERS “ALL-TOGETHER” CYCLE

The Wheelers are delighted to announce a new venture taking place on Sunday 9th December and that is the “All-Together” cycle. All the different sections of the Wheelers – leisure, club racing, open racing and mountain biking will unite for a cycle (with a coffee break en-route) to help introduce new members to the club.
