Club Tour 2019
The Club Tour takes place on Sunday 12th May, the Route with be a clockwise circuit of the lake starting at the Lakeside Hotel in Balina, Co Tipperary. There will be 3 groups on the day, depending on your ability, Leisure, Intermediate, and Senior(30Kmph+). Sign on is from 8.00am at the Lakeside Hotel, with the Leisure group rolling out at 9.00am. The other groups will follow at 40min intervals. Please note there will be parking restrictions at the hotel on the day
There is a Food Stop in Portumna Forrest at the halfway mark, along with food and refreshments back at the hotel at the finish.
Club Racing – Time Trial No: 2
This Thursday sees the return of club racing with the second of J Moynan TT series , The route is: Roundhill Pub – Five Alley roundabout -Yellow Bridge (16km). Sign on is at Roundhill Pub for the race start at 6.45pm sharp. Entry fee is €5.
Last week was an eventful week for the club, with many groups out flying the colours of NTW. 8 Members of the Leisure Group made their way to Birr by bike and car to cycle back to Nenagh with Cycle Against Suicide, Well Done to Liam Chadwick, Kathy McLoughlin, Paddy Seymour, Patricia Finn, Bernard Fahy, Joe Kelly, Brian Chadwick, and Ronan Dodd for supporting a fantastic cause.
On Sunday, Keeper CC had their annual sportive, starting in Newport with the eagerly contested “King of the hill” and “Queen of the hill” up Shallee. Well Done to Eva Moynan and Colm Turner who took both honours for NTW. Well done also to Rob Dalton, Peter Moynan and Cathal Hanrahan who also represented the Wheelers in Newport.
Last week, several members travelled to Majorca, Spain to take part in the Mallorca 312 Sportive. Selina & Owen Hynes, Eoin Woods, Pat Bergin and Stephen Hogan took part in the 167Km and 225Km routes over the hills and mountains of the island, but special mention goes to Andy English, Nanno Vuyk, and Eoin O’Connor, who conquered the 312Km route. An amzing achievement!!!
