For TT4, we were back to the wet, cool weather – a horrible evening for racing but in spite of that a good number of hardy souls turned out for the time trial. We reverted to the lImerick road route – Yellow Bridge to Birdhill roundabout and back – a distance of 10 mls. The fastest man on the night was Shane Scully in a time of 23.41 and remarkably, Pat Bergin and Liam Callaghan clocked the same time – 24.46 while Tommy Hanrahan just missed out with 24.47. When the time adjustments were made, Tommy Hanrahan retained third place while John McCarthy claimed second and Margaret Hogan took her first club win. Both John and Margaret rode well within their handicap and since TT1, Margaret has improved her time by over 3 mins. A great achievement! Cliodhna McGrath and Stuart Witts both rode their first TT with us and showed very respectable times. Well done to all who turned out on such a miserable evening!
