Hi Folks, We hope you all had a great week and you all enjoyed St.Patricks day.
Tuesday and Thursday evening our turbo training sessions continued and they are still going very well. Everyone is enjoying these training evenings while getting in some very good base mileage and we are delighted to see all the new members who are giving these session a go, a very warm welcome to you all. If you haven’t tried out these turbo evenings yet, please do not be shy, we have a few club turbo trainers spare there for you to give it a go and it’s only as hard as you make it on yourself!
Wednesday
Well done to a few club members who were out on the MTBs in Portumna Forest Park on Wednesday last, John Caulfield, Owen Hynes, Peter Moynan, and Selina Hynes they were also joined by Ian Kennedy from Lower Ormond cycle club and it was great to have your company. They were very blessed with weather and they all enjoyed a great afternoon. Thanks Selina for the few pics.
Weekend spins
The weather was less than favourable on Sunday morning so a whatsapp message was sent out earlier in the morning by a couple of members to see whether the spin was going ahead or not and it was decided it would go ahead by a very dedicated few I must add. Six members left Moynans including the birthday girl Eva. Happy 18th Eva. Peter and Eva cycled as far as Killaloe with the group and did their own spin from there where the lads continued on to do a lap of Lough Derg. They found the going tough with the wet and windy conditions but enjoyed the morning out. Well done to you all.
A special mention to the birthday girl Eva. Happy 18th…
NTW in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade
Its been months in the planning and Selina Hynes and Olivia Madden were put in charge of organising this years NTW entry into the St Patricks day event. Alot of their time and effort was put in and we want to say a big well done to them for organising a very successful day. We need to say a big thank you also to the committee for all their help, John Spillane who lent us a trailer for the day, Pat who let us use his unit to decorate the float in the lovely weather, to Rob who drove for us, the members who helped put the float together and turned up for the parade itself on what was a cold miserable wet day, but weather aside, everyone enjoyed the fun of the day. We met up after the parade for a… social drink in Una Powells pub. Well done to all involved. Below are a collection of photos of the parade with thanks to Selina.

Visit Nenagh Classic Launch Night
As we hope you are all aware by now, NTW is officially the new club behind the Gas Networks Ireland Visit Nenagh Classic since we welcomed back the race director Rene Van Dam into our club this year. This year is the 6th edition of the race, the longest and toughest one day road race in the country and is also proudly part of the National Road Race Series and the Munster championship Team Time Trial. We hope you all realise how big this race is and how big a deal being the organising club of such a prestigious event as this is! We are so proud that our humble little club is now promoting this event and we want to see as many members as possible get to the launch night of the race next Friday evening, 24th March in the Abbey Court Hotel at 7.30pm. We’d love to see as many of you as possible there on the evening!
Also the family fun cycle is a very popular part of that weekend and takes place on Sunday morning, April 2nd starting on Pearse street at 11am sharp and it does a 8km loop of the Borrisokane bypass and back in to the town. We would love your help on the day with this and thanks to the members who have already put their names forward…it’ll be a fun, friendly, enjoyable morning on the bikes so spread the word to your family and friends, everyone is welcome to join in. If any more members can help on the day please contact Selina on 0879177355 or contact us on northtippwheelers@gmail.com or on our FB page. Keep the date in the diaries… Thanks all.
