Training sessions and group spins are based on Summer training and Winter training schedules. All training and spins are open to all members of Cycling Ireland.

We are currently operating our Winter Training schedule as follows:

WINTER TRAINING – Road Bike

Tuesday Evening – Club Turbo Training Session @ 7pm – Held in a unit in Stereame

Wednesday Evening – Night Spin – Leaves Moynans Bike shop at 7pm.

Thursday Evening – Club Turbo Training Session @ 7pm – Held in a unit in Stereame

Saturday morning – Race Training Spin.  Meet at Woodies carpark, Stream Retail Park @9am.  This is a structured training ride incorporating specific drills and instructions for those with racing interests and seeking to maintain race base fitness through the winter until the race season. This spin can be joined by anyone with Cycling Ireland membership. Average speed of 30+kph with variable distance between 80-100+km.

Sunday morning – Training spin at 9am from Moynan’s Bike Shop as follows:

  • Green” group that will be for beginners/leisure and that group will be in the region of 20-24kph.
  • Orange” group which is an intermediate group and will be controlled at 25-29kph average. 
  • Red” group which will do in the region of a 30+kph average. 

WINTER TRAINING –  MOUNTAIN BIKING

A number of members engage in Mountain biking during the winter months.  Mountain biking spins are less formal and can occur at weekends and during the week. If you wish to be notified about any mountain bike spins then please let us know and we’ll add you to the club MTB WhatsApp group.

SUMMER TRAINING SCHEDULE

Tuesday Evenings: 6pm from Moynans Bike Shop, Nenagh

Thursday Evenings: 6.15pm Club Race Night (from Moynans).  A variety of club races including road races, individual time-trials and hill climbs based on the race calendar and individual trophy races. 

Sunday morning – Training spin at 9am from Moynan’s Bike Shop as follows:

  • Green” group that will be for beginners/leisure and that group will be in the region of 20-24kph.
  • Orange” group which is an intermediate group and will be controlled at 25-29kph average.
  • Red” group which will do in the region of a 30+kph average.
