Another win for John McCarthy

On a sunny yet breezy evening, 14 riders signed on for the 5th Road Race of the season which was a 16km race from Kilkeary to Lisboney via Toomevara. With a wind on our back as we warmed up out to Toomevara, we knew that the road back in to the finish would be a tough one and that team work would play an important part of this race. Tour of Lough Derg

North Tipp Wheelers Annual Tour of Lough Derg takes place on Sunday May, 26th from the Lakeside Hotel, Ballina, Co. Tipperary. Sign on from 8.30 am and there will be two start times, 9.30 am with an average speed of 22 kph and 10.30 am with a minimum average of 29 kph. Club BBQ – May 18th

The Club have organised a BBQ for members and their partners for Saturday, May 18th. The venue is Rohans Bar and food will be served at 9pm. The price is just €5 per person. This is an ideal way to get to know fellow club members, new and old and with the An Post Ras due into Nenagh 2 days later on Monday 20th, we can kick start the celebrations in style. Team Time Trial Training Video

While the rest of us were racing on the “sunny” side of Nenagh yesterday evening, the North Tipp Wheelers Team for Saturday’s Team Time Trial were getting soaked doing their final training session on the N7. Team members are: Pat Bergin, Tommy Hanrahan, Liam Callaghan, John Foote, Brian O’Neill and Dan Hogan. Thanks to Mags Bergin who drove and Lisa who videoed the footage. Visit Nenagh Classic

This weekend sees a number of North Tipp Wheelers taking to the roads of North Tipperary for the Visit Nenagh Classic. On Saturday, 6 members will take part in a unique event – a Team Time Trial – which kicks off at 2pm from the Five Alley and runs along the old N7 to Birdhill and back.
